Here I will be logging all the different places that I have been outside the Philippines. I’ll be linking my other travel blogs to the places I’ll list below.
October 8 – November 9, 2003 – Hanoi, Vietnam
Through my work, I was sent by my company to Hanoi to provide technical support for our client situated in Thang Long Industrial Park just outside Hanoi. I was here for 4 whole weeks. I connected through Hong Kong to get to Hanoi.
November 1 – 2, 2003 – Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
With some Filipino friends, we visited this UNESCO World Heritage site which is east of Hanoi. We took a cruise on a traditional Chinese junk.
May 25 – 27, 2004 – Singapore
With my brother and his then girlfriend (now wife), we took a packaged tour to Singapore via Singapore Airlines. We were booked at Grand Central Hotel.
May 27, 2004 – Johor Bahru, Malaysia
On the day we are set to return home from Singapore, we decided to enter Malaysia for the first time. Due to limited time, we just entered the Malaysian boundary. Take a look for a short time and re-entered Singapore to catch our flight home.
August 8 – 22, 2004 – Austin, Texas, U.S.A.
Again through my work, my company sent me to Austin to attend discussion with three colleagues. We stayed for 2 weeks there. Flight to the U.S. allowed me to connect through Tokyo, Japan via Northwest Airlines.
August 14 – 16, 2004 – Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.
While in the US, I took a side trip to L.A. to visit my parents who have just moved there. I went to L.A. for the weekend and flew back to Austin.
August 23 – 29, 2004 – Penang, Malaysia
Right after we came home to the Philippines, the next day we flew to Penang, Malaysia where we continued all discussions and activities that we have not finished in Texas.
December 23, 2004 – January 2, 2005 – Singapore
With my brother recently getting a job in the Singapore and he and his wife moved to Singapore. We celebrated our first Christmas in Singapore with my brother’s in-laws. We again toured the country.
May 26 – June 1, 2005 – Singapore
We returned back to Singapore, trying a different airline. We took the trip with plans of going to Malaysia.
May 27 – 29, 2005 – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
We ventured to visit Kuala Lumpur. I organized an itinerary for us to take a train from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. To see the Petronas Towers. We met a forum friend who toured us to see Putrajaya.
July 31 – August 20, 2005 – Xiamen, China
>Again, another travel opportunity was granted to me as I with 3 colleagues were sent to Xiamen to support our Testing activities. We were able to stay also in two different hotels. The second being Sofitel, the best hotel that I have ever stayed in, so far.
August 20 – 21, 2005 – Beijing, China
Having the chance to enter China, I and a colleague purchased plane tickets to see Beijing and the Great Wall of China. This is one of the most worth while travel expenditure that I had.
December 23 – 29, 2005 – Singapore
Again, we celebrate the Christmas holidays with my brother and in-laws in Singapore. This time with another side trip plan to Indonesia.
December 25 – 26, 2005 – Bintan Resorts, Indonesia
We took a tour package to see one of Indonesia’s 15,000 islands. Bintan island is among Indonesian islands nearest to Singapore that served as a vacation destination for Singaporeans.
May 14 – 21, 2006 – Singapore, with Von and Vonna
Again I return back to Singapore but this time with two cousins whom I toured around the city with side trip to Malaysia.
May 17 – 19, 2006 – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with Von and Vonna
Again like our KL trip last year, I organized an itinerary to see the Petronas Towers and this time see Putrajaya.
August 31 – September 8, 2006 – Penang, Malaysia
Again, I return to Penang to the same client that I supported 2 years ago. Unlike the first time, now I was able to see more of this island.
September 8, 2006 – Singapore
Since we connected to Singapore on our trip back to the Philippines and with companions who have not entered Singapore yet, I guided my companions into Singapore by taking an MRT ride to the closest MRT station and back.
Again I return to Austin for the same client. And now I’m with 3 colleagues who are first timers in the U.S. I organized a trip to Houston to see NASA in the weekend. We could have gone to San Antonio but time is too short.
May 19 – 22, 2007 – Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.
On the way back to the Philippines, I again took a short stop to visit my family in LA.
For a month long, I took the chance of taking a long break from work and celebrate Christmas and New Year with my family in the US. The first weeks of my stay was spent in Milpitas near San Jose with two visits to San Francisco then a visit to Las Vegas and Grand Canyon. Christmas in San Diego and New Year in Los Angeles with a trip to the Universal Studios. Also during this trip I was able to try riding the Amtrak from LA to San Jose.
October 23 – 28, 2008 – Hong Kong
For a week, Jen, myself, and Janine with Jen’s sister Jenith’s family, made a trip to one of Asia’s business hubs. Here, we’ve made an exhaustive itinerary to visit Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, The Peak, Mong Kok, and Wan Chai. We stayed in a hostel in Chungking Mansions at the Kowloon side during our stay there.
October 28 – 30, 2008 – Macau
Continuing our trip from Hong Kong, we crossed to the neighboring city of Macau as part of this two-city trip. During our short stay, we’ve visited some of it’s famed casinos like the Venetian and historic sites like the Ruins of St. Paul and the Senado Square.
December 2009 – Singapore
Through my employer, Besix, which is based in Brussels, I was fortunate enough to take a 2-week business trip to Belgium. During this period I was able to check out some nearby cities and Amsterdam as well.
This was a long planned one-month vacation to the west cost of the USA where with my family and myself was able to go around the state of California plus a few other cities as well. We were also able to visit multiple theme parks and experience snow for the first time.
July 2, 2011 – Singapore
This was a day I did a bold move to move to Singapore to look for work and live. Was able to find a job at a Online Gaming company and was able to bring my family to stay with with me after 3 months.
March 31, 2013 – Legoland Malaysia, Johor, Malaysia
A short bus trip to Malaysia to check out this very new theme park.
Future Plan: US Trip to the East Coast 2015.
